Writing Coach teachers and students encountered a problem recently where content assigned by teachers was not displayed on students’ to-do lists. The problem was introduced in a release on January 28, 2013 and has since been fixed. Any content that teachers have assigned since this release will have to be reassigned – by adjusting the due to date to a future date – in order for students to see it on their to-do lists.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
ISSUE It has come to our attention that a system error has been preventing some past due student assignments from being graded. If a student does not submit an assignment before the due date passes, the grade should automatically be updated to a “0”. The system was not processing all past-due assignments and therefore many grades that should have displayed a “0” were still listed as “- -“ in the gradebook.
RESOLUTION An update fixing this issue was completed on 2/20/2013. There was no system downtime, and customers could continue to access the system per usual.
WHAT to EXPECT All updates to the accounts have been processed. This means that any assignments that were not completed before the stated due date now reflect a “0” score. This image shows how the affected grades previously appeared and what the grade looks like now that the fix is complete.
Keep in mind that, since all assignments have been properly graded, teachers may see significant changes in student and class averages.
